As we all know the upcoming Hair revival is at very low budget. It is definitely the smart way to go since it goes with the tone of the revival and considering the economic crisis we are in. But now that it has secured the Hirschfeld which in my opinion is a interesting choice i am wondering if they will add to it and make the it on a bigger scale in terms of design. I am wondering what you think they will do with the stage.
Your Thoughts?

I don't really see why they would have to expand the set, the Al Hirschfeld is not huge, they can do some really cool set that is small and low budget in that theatre.
I thought it was just the same production as in the park.
If it is, then there isn't really a set. Just astroturf on the stage

I will bet it is just the wall, raked set with astroturf like it was in the park.
No it was expensive astroturf. It was thin and very lifelike. The stage made a wooden sound when they pounded on it during the Yippy chant.

Any "set", per se, would be a bad idea for this revival.

I would also like to know who said it was "low budget."

AndAllThatJazz22 said that they could do a small low budget set, meaning they could do a minimal set in that theatre and it would work.
I was refering to the first post saying we all know this is a low budget production.
We know nothing of the sort.

I hope they keep the fence to crucify Jesus upon.
It'll probably be a fence with grass, and I imagine they'll keep the band onstage too.
I've heard their idea is to make the theater very organic and nature oriented and very "green."
I'm anxious to see it!
