My friends and I are thinking of making the trek up to NYC to see Hair before it closes (June 16 matinee). Being college students, we are incredibly cheap. :)
So my question is: to what extent would the experience of seeing the show be diminished sitting in the back few rows of the mezzanine? We don't care so much about the audience interaction, more about staging and what we might miss sitting up there.
We'd appreciate any advice you could give us on getting cheap seats via other methods as well!
Attendance is so low, they will move you futher down in the mezzanine. Buy the cheap tix. I doubt the closing notice will make a huge difference.
Alright, thanks! Yeah, we're seeing it more than a week before closing, hopefully they'll be able to move us up.
I had a group of nearly 100. We were all invited to move downn.

In the unlikely event you don't get moved down, I've sat in nearly the back row of the mez and the only thing you miss is the cast interacting with the audience down at orchestra level. Other than that you can see everything perfectly and the cast even come all the way up to interact with you.
