Hairspray DVD Question
Hairspray DVD Question#1
Posted: 11/8/07 at 6:27am
I received an e-mail this morning from Amazon regarding the pre-order and release of the Hairspray DVD (11/20/2007).
What confuses me are the various options offered: Collector's Edition, Shake and Shimmy Edition, Full Screen Version, Limited Edition Gift Set, etc. I know there was a post explaining the differences a few months ago, but when I did a search I could not find it. Does any one know the differences of all the DVD's being offered? [Amazon doesn't list the details]
Thanks.

Note that they're also releasing a 2-CD soundtrack.
Thanks to Mateo for providing me with the link.

I do hope you're kidding with all this.
ALL of this has been covered for months when the DVD's release date was first announced (in August, I believe), along with new 2-CD Collector's Edition Film Soundtrack.
The DVD comes out in 12 days -- this isn't 'new' news.
NOTE: the numerous posts on this DVD release and 2-CD Collector's Edition Film Soundtrack seem to have vanished. There was a server problem a few weeks ago that deleted threads from August, which explains why all those hundreds of posts are no longer on here.

I didn't mean to imply that this was new news, I asked because I couldn't find the original thread which contained all the details. If anything the thread title is a bit misleading (which I'll change).

Same here.
This is definitely one to have on Blu-ray.

Posted: 11/8/07 at 2:35pmI love Hairspray but can we please stop doing all these special editions? Throw the deleted scenes on the disc and be done with it. Don't charge em $10 more because you include five scenes and a couple of promotional featurettes.
