I got this CD back in 2002 before Hairspray opened. It's rainbowed from the center out in the colors of silver, purple, dark pink, orange, black, light pink, dark blue, and light blue with the Broadway logo. It says on it: hairspray
1. Good Morning Baltimore 3:38 2. Welcome To The 60s 2:57 3. (Momma) I'm a Big Girl Now 3:09
According to the Hairspray site: I heard a 3-song sampler that doesn't sound like the original Broadway cast recording. What is that from? A sampler cd was sent out as part of a direct mail campaign in Spring 2002. At that point, the cast album had not been recorded yet so tracks from our demo were used. The three songs on this cd were "Good Morning Baltimore," "Mama I'm a Big Girl Now," and "Welcome to the '60s.
I have it. I enjoy the Welcome to the 60's on it...I am pretty sure I heard it was Annie Golden. There is also a version of Nathan Lane singing the Edna role on something.

I have a demo cd with Good Morning Baltimore, Nicest Kids In Town, Mama I'm a Big Girl Now, Welcome to the 60s, Big Blonde and Beautiful, Timeless to Me, and I Know Where I've Been. I bought mine off of ebay. Nathan lane sings for Edna and Wilbur.
If you buy tickets from telecharge, they often put you on lists to receive these demos. I have them from Hairspray, Frog and Toad, In the Life, bombay Dreams, etc...
I just posted about this today. Didnt realize there was an earlier thread about it. Was trying to find out who the singers are. I enjoy Golden's rendition of Good Morning Baltimore quite a bit.
