Unless a giant EDNA Balloon knocked over a lamp post on his head.. ther are no damages. He chose to skip the audition... he was clearly warned that the pass did not guarantee admission. Why is that so hard for people to understand? Are these people special needs??? Seriously. "Like in theatre, our lives are defined by our choices!" He chose unwisely... why is this anyone elses fault by his?

What a stupid choice he made. He should be sued for being so stupid.
Talk about having an entitlement issue.

Posted: 7/24/07 at 9:36pmIf he was promised first come first served and they did not honor that he might very well have a case. Stranger things have happened. What was that case where the guy sued the cleaners for losing his pants or something? We will see.

Flaunt It, as has been explained MANY times, it people were promised for seating to be first come, first serve. When it was NOT first come, first serve, people doo have a right to be a little angry.
I agree this man is idiotic to want to sue, but you can't say people can't be a little angry.

The only ones with special needs (or maybe ADD) are the ones who read one sentence in the screening pass and ignore the folowup sentences. No one forced Newline to tell people to arrive early because seating was first come, first served.
That said. Ivan, your friend has no case. No one forced him to skip the audition. If he had made it into the showing, would he have also threatened to sue the studio for making him miss the McDonald's commercial because they made a really fun movie that lured him away from a professional commitment? The second he made the choice to skip the commercial, it became his responsibility and no one else's.

Posted: 7/24/07 at 11:51pmI read it all and it was clear there was no guarantee to see the film no matter how early one showed up. So I skipped it. I went on Friday and waited in no line.. well I waited in a short line for some Milk Duds.. maybe I should sue.. there was no warning that there may be lines at the snack counter and they wasted 5 minutes of my time and I missed my chance to buy some killer flip-flops at a Payless BOGO sale!.

Are you that thick that you can't understand why people are angry they didn't get it?
The seating was ADVERTSIED as first come, first serve. This was NOT the case.
Oy.

It was also advertised as DOES NOT GUARANTEE ADMISSION.. who is being thick? It was clear to me that these passes were to supliment another offer and the only way people were getting in was if not enough people showed up to for the other offer. That's how these things work. NO GUARANTEE... SHOCKING! Who knew?
Take some personal responsiility for your own actions that lead to your sadness. Read ALL the fine print.. not just the stuff you want to see.

Wow. We got it. They had a fine print that said that admission wasn't guranteed. But they also said "First come, first serve."
What part do you not get? I'm sure people of average intelligence would surely assume that means you'll be accepted if you're the first in line. The chance becomes less as you arrive later.

It was not guaranteed... period... what about that did you not understand? And what about that is NOT what happened? It was spelled out plain as day in several places on the entry that you all volunterily filled out. Be smarter next time. Nothing inthe world is FREE. Don't be such suckers!
There is a sucker born every minute
Each time the second hand sweeps to the top
Like dandelions up they pop,
Their ears so big, their eyes so wide.
And though I feed ‘em bonafide baloney
With no truth in it
Why you can bet I’ll find some rube to buy my corn.
‘Cause there’s a sure-as-shooting sucker born a minute,
And I’m referrin’ to the minute you were born.

Posted: 7/25/07 at 12:16amYou're the one being thick, flauntit. It was already pointed out that AFTER the ticket said seating is not guaranteed, it went on to say because it was first come, first served. I've no doubt you read it differently because you seem to have a comprehension problem. The more you go on with your meandering rants, while ignoring everyone's well though points, the less literate you look.
