They also want Harvey.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

re: Hairspray The movie 2006

that doesn't say ANYTHING about Marissa playing Tracy in a movie. It says she played Tracy on broadway and in the LA stop for the tour and will be filming a movie for the same studio that will make Hairspray. That is all.

"..reports that Winokur will portray the romantic lead in the upcoming film "Always a Bridesmaid.""

I heard Mandy Moore is interested in playing Tracy! Hahaha, kidding. My vote goes to Riki Lake...bring back the original. She's not too old!

re: Hairspray The movie 2006

I won't and can't say anything about the movie casting except this: the Variety article(s) have spread innacurate information about casting. NOTHING has been "decided" about anyone...one way or the other...so groove on to guessing or ideas or wishes or just cut yourself a nice piece of pie (mmm...pie), but even dear BwayGuy2 doesnt know any 'facts' since there are no facts to be known!

I have SPOKEN!!!

re: Hairspray The movie 2006

Just PLEASE don't sacrifice talent for big names. I will say the cast, I saw, was brilliant. Marissa is just cute as a button. I hate when movies come to the theater like EVITA, with a crap cast full of big names who can't sing or act (save J. Price of course).

FYI - I will be seeing this movie when it opens!
