Hairspray lead actor Jay Brazeau experienced a minor stroke during a performance Thursday night, leading to the cancellation of the show.
Brazeau is expected to make a full recovery and will return to the musical at a later date, according to Nicole McLuckie, Arts Club Theatre communications manager.
"We are currently rehearsing our understudy and performances will continue Friday evening. We wish Jay a speedy recovery and look forward to his return," McLuckie said in a statement.

Posted: 5/16/11 at 8:55amThis is so scary to me. One of my personal performing fears is getting ill or incapacitated onstage. I would hate for an audience to see that. Best wishes on a speedy recovery!
