Marsden and Efron both look like Links.
omg yes. Daniel Orlandi is genius.
Mary Zophres did 'Catch Me If You Can'- and she did a brilliant job with that aswell.
I am such a fan of the Hairspray costumes thus far. I do feel they could have gone a bit further with Edna, But John wanted to keep her simple. Here is what he said in an interview while filming:
"There was an instinct to make the clothes even more flamboyant. I said no. [My character is] lower middle class [like I was]. People in my neighborhood admired Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor and Anita Ekberg; not Zsa Zsa Gabor."
I respect that John knows his characters well, and has ideas of how Edna should look and move. His best idea - I think- was suggesting to the costume designer that Edna's outfits be form fitting.
I do like the way Edna looks and moves in the film. She is very cute and sexy at the same time.
I think it's safe to say if John had not played Edna or had he not spoken up- Edna would look very different.
I just wish Edna was a tad more glamorous- post makeover. However it does seem that in the 'timeless to me' fantasy sequences and 'welcome to the 60's' they went all out, so that's good!
ok yall know I love my Hairspray but Im not a big fan of these posters... I love the colors and graphics and the basic idea, I just really dont like the writing over the actors and way its laid out.
They couldve put the picture to one side, and put Hairspray vertically. Had they done that, the characters can look like theyre leaning on the word or touching it. Then I wouldve put 'style it up' and 'turn it up' and the various phrases either above (as a header or maybe a thought or talk bubble), behind (magazines do it to great affect as long as you see enough letters- coulda worked well for Link) or even below the photos (like they were stepping over or standing on it & it couldve given the von girlies more attitude).
'Hairspray' doesnt bother me so much, but the phrases over the faces do. Im all for a little overlay but dayum...

Can someone give me the link to Nikki's poster because the computer I am on is a school computer and it blocks Cinematical. Or can someone give me the AOL link to any of them?

Great images of the cast. Great idea. Bad layouts.
