I was curious to know, does anyone have the book Hairspray: The Roots? Is it worth getting? Anyone have any thoughts?

I have it, but haven't looked at it since the Broadway production closed. Overall it's a nice book.

I have it and love it. It's a great point of reference, as I'm always doing a production of it somewhere....

It's a nice coffee-table type book. Lots and lots of photos, notes about lyrics and the production. An amusing character timeline and "games." One slight against it: it does not contain the full libretto, just song lyrics and short descriptions of what happens between them.

It's fun. Lots of gossipy-type stories about the development process and insider stuff- "then we tried..." etc.
