Just got home after seeing Hamilton. I was blown away by the show, I thought it was brilliant in every way and I was standing at the end(and I'm that guy who will in a sea of standing people I've stood maybe 5 times). The show was just that good.....

BUT the real thing that was important was that my 16 year old tough guy hip-hop loving son was completely taken in by the show and was on the edge of seat the entire show. He lept to his feet at the end as well. Now I've been dragging him to theater since he was a wee lad but I've never seen him like he was at Hamilton.

I was crying at the end from the whole experience and I do believe this will be the final nail in the coffin that dooms him to a lifetime of loving theater, so so thank you from the bottom of my heart lin manuel miranda and the wonderful cast of hamilton!

And you didn't want to post this on the Hamilton thread...why?

congrats for getting the first snarky comment. But to answer your question, because I came home flying high from seeing my son excited about musical theater. Because I was alive with thought that I had helped to change his life and made a future theater patron. I was SO excited by this that I just had to jump on here and share with other like minded people and let them know that there is at least one new person to add to the ranks of theater goer....

But yeah I do feel bad that I created a new thread for it...it must have been horrible for you to have me drive over to your home and grab your hand and force you to click on this post, I know you just wanted to ignore it but me in all my wickedness forced you to click....

I have learned my lesson, in the future when I callously share my excitement here I promise I will refrain from driving to your home and forcing you to read it.

Again.... my deepest sympathy for all your suffering.

I would so run away from home if one of my parents did that.

Glad you had such a wonderful experience! It's so great that your son fell in love with theater. I'm seeing Hamilton on 3/17 - can't wait!

While the best thing about Hamilton is everything about the show, the next best thing is the show is as good as all the hype.
And that sentiment can live on any thread,

There truly are not words for how much I loved Hamilton the Musical. You can't love theater and not see this show... It truly lives up to the hype - a total game changer for musical theater. Creative, inventive, explosive - it stands on the shoulders of Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Les Mis but then mixes it with hip-hop and stunning choreography that morphs into the environment of each setting... Brilliant visionary direction by Thomas Kail, stunning performances all around. You haven't lived until you see Hamilton & Jefferson rap battle over federal versus states rights! Thank you Lin-Manuel Miranda for an unbelievable night at the theater! I already bought my tickets to see it again on Broadway!
