Hi! I know, I know -ANOTHER- Hamilton thread...but I've searched and searched and have not been able to find an answer to my question. Please indulge me!
I'm not NY local and interested in purchasing 2 tickets for a show in April when the next block of tickets is released. I want to be as prepared as possible for when this happens and I'm wondering if anyone knows how the actual seats break down price-wise before resale tickets take over Ticketmaster. Basically, which specific rows/seats are considered premium vs standard vs mid-premium vs preferred (these are all the categories listed for current performances)?
I certainly can't afford the $849 premium prices...but am hoping to be able to snag a premium-adjacent seat for less ($199??) and want to know what specific seats to look for when the next ticket block is available for purchase. Is this an unreasonable expectation? Any seating chart out there with price by seat info?
Thanks!
When Hamilton tickets go on sale, you will not get a map to click on... for what it's worth, just say how many you want, and it will return the "best" seats it finds. And what is premium, mid-premium, etc., has changed slightly with each sale.

Ok, good to know, thanks! Will there be a way to specify price range? I don't see anything like "find the best seats within a price range" for shows that are currently for sale. And I'd hate to check for best available only to be presented with premium seats which I know I definitely can't afford and then 1.5min later the whole theater is sold out before I can try for another pair.
Reading it back, this sounds like such a dumb question, because I feel like all other tickets I've ever purchased to anything have had the "best within a price" option...I just don't see that anywhere for current Hamilton tickets so it's stressing me out.
But it sounds like maybe it's a completely different ballgame when a new block of tickets comes out?
I forget how it worked exactly (since I bought mine in November and am just going on Saturday, heh), but yeah, I did not get premium tickets offered, only regular, so I specified... something. ![]()
If you go to Ticketmaster the moment they go on sale you can "buy on map" and yes, you will see the seats on the map. The last time a block went on sale I bought some that were in row N orchestra on the aisle closest to the side of the theatre at the $199 price point. They still were not partial view because they were far enough back and so a great value. I also bought third row center for $849 for another date. There were also seats in the $549ish range but I don't know the breakdown. All I know is that all of the $199 seats go in a blink. Those might be $229 this time as that's how the cancellation line prices have changed, I believe. Good luck!

Ok, awesome! Thank you to all three of you for the great info!
Haterobics - enjoy the show on Saturday!! So excited for you :)
I paid $170 per ticket (before the ticketmaster fees) for front mezz tickets.

Does anyone have an educated guess on when the next block of tickets will be released? (Based on the timing of previous releases or something?)

Babe_Williams - Awesome! Sounds like a great value, I've read those are really good seats!
Allegra23 - No idea on that...but last time, I believe the announcement was made like a month before the next block was actually on sale, so there was plenty of time to plan for it.

" This past March they released tickets but there wasn't an announcement made and the ticket alert wasn't sent out until 45 minutes after they went on sale. The only reason I knew was I was on the Ticketmaster page a few days beforehand and they had extended the calendar and you could see the individual dates with shows.
If I had to guess September/October will be the next 6 month block. Good luck!

Wow, good to know! I only knew about the ones that went on sale in April and were announced in March. Guess it pays to keep checking the calendar regularly!
The next block of tickets is way overdue. I am thinking the regular price will go up from $199 to $229.

Thanks everyone, will have to keep an eye on the Ticketmaster page, then. Was hoping to get tickets for May, without having to do the cancellation line.

The orchestra seats I got for December were $260.45 after fees. They went up to $249 per seat and an $11.25 processing fee. They may have been a small per order fee.
The mid premium seats were $550 and the premium for some of the holiday shows went from $849 to $998.
If I recall correctly, only the cheaper seats went on sale the day of, and the more expensive ones were on the map the next day.

Good to know, thanks for the latest price breakdown!
That was the holiday pricing. The orchestra tickets I bought for March 2018 were $229 each.
