Has anyone had any experience with the cancellation line/tickets at Hamilton at the PrivateBank theatre in Chicago? It says on their site they start offering cancellation tickets 2 hours prior to show. Anyone know how long before hand people start waiting? I know in New York people are waiting for like 5 hours nowadays, so i figure it shouldn't be too bad in Chi. I'm hoping to go tonight or tomorrow matinee, and considering it's a pretty cold weekend I don't think too many people will be waiting outside. Anyone know if they have standby standing room tickets as well if there are no cancellations or unclaimed tickets? Anyone who has any information on this whatsoever, I would love some help. Thanks!!

Hey! Did you end up getting cancellation tickets? I am hoping to go in June (flying in from Europe) and could use any tips!

I unsuccessfully tried in October - we arrived at 11:30am and were 15th in line for a Saturday matinee. We ended up just buying on StubHub.
We tried again in January for a Saturday evening. We showed up at 12:30 and no one was there. The box office employees said when they do have tickets, they come out later in the day. They told us to come back at 3. We came back around 3:30 and there were 3 people in line. The box office people said we should be able to get tickets. By 4:30, we left with two $179 tickets - one in row B and one in row D! The seats were on the extreme sides with limited view, but who cares!
I know these stories are outdated but hopefully they're helpful!

I went to the theater in early February and found that the policy had changed so that tickets went on sale whenever they became available. The box office person recommended coming at around 3:00 on a day with an evening performance because that was when unclaimed lottery tickets usually became available for resale. I came at 3:00 and was second in line. The woman at the ticket window sold me a seat in Row B just across the aisle from the center section in the orchestra. She said it was in the second row and was a "great seat" with an unobstructed view. I was thrilled. However, when I came back that evening I discovered that the seat was in the first row. The stage was very high and a significant portion of the stage was not visible from my seat. I returned to the box office and, after much arguing, was offered a very good good seat with an excellent view for the following evening. Seeing the show was a wonderful experience! Bottom line, prospects for the cancellation line seem to be good, but if clear sight lines are important to you, research in advance where to sit and where not to sit. Good luck!

Thanks guys! Sounds like prices are fairly similar to New York so I'l probably just try there. They don't do SRO, correct?
