Sorry to start a thread re: Hamilton tickets but I'm looking to learn more about which seats in the Richard Rodgers Theater for Hamilton show offer sufficient leg room---I am looking to take my parents who are older and larger, but not handicapped to the show.
If anyone could give me some advice here on which rows/ seats to look for that would be much appreciated. Of course, looking for best bang for my buck but I want to see the stage.
I heard that rear mezzaine center row A (first row) has a curtain in front of it vs a wall which lets patrons stretch their legs a bit. That could work.
I also heard box seats may work but I'm not too thrilled about the partial view. I saw some Box Seats B (lower) offered but they're missing the ladder on stage.
Lastly, I think orchesta center row L is the first row to be higher than others (elevated maybe)? I may be wrong here but wanted to hear from someone who knew the stage better than I do. The row L on the orchestra left and right have a bigger space from other rows but have a hard wall in front of it I believe with limited leg room. I'm not sure on row L on orchestra center if it is 1) elevated and 2) has more leg room than other rows in orchestra center.
Please let me know which rows in orchestra or in front or rear mezz may be best for this situation where I need 3 seats w/ sufficient leg room. I really appreciate any Hamilton fan's help! Thanks!
Great show, but avoid rear mezzanine. First time I saw it (have since seen it 3 rows from stage recently in Chicago!) I sat in literally the last row of rear mezzanine. I’m long legged with bad knees, which were in agony virtually the entire show. I was never so glad for intermission. Lol
A few years ago, I grabbed a seat just past the transverse aisle in orchestra right (the start of the raked portion) for Porgy & Bess. I had hoped that the leg room would be open with only a railing, but there was a wall there with the result of bulkhead seats without toe room.
My son in law is six-feet-four, so I made a study of this topic before buying Hamilton tickets! Here's the lowdown, in brief:
1. You are correct about rear mezzanine Row A (and ONLY Row A). As you say, you sit behind a curtain. Plenty of leg room. This does NOT apply to front mezzanine Row A, sad to say.
2. Box seats are great. There are three movable seats in each. Nice view from LOWER box seats, even if you do miss what's on the far side. I sat in Box B and loved it. Great experience, and private! The staging, choreography, lighting all look fine from there. Lower boxes are A, B, C, D. I do not recommend upper boxes.
3. Row L in orchestra will not help you because you'd be sitting behind a wall. I bought those seats for my brother and my sister in law and they complained about the lack of leg room.
That's about it! Enjoy the show!

I had no problem with legroom and I was in the last row of the rear mezzanine on the aisle. Granted, I'm 6 foot. The only time I've been in pain was the front mezzanine at the Shubert.
