Considering the few other OBC recordings that hit double platinum. That's pretty impressive. Other recordings that hit double.

Only My Fair Lady, Les Mis, and Phantom has been certified for more multiple platinums.

And it's still number one on the Amazon.com  musicals charts. It could still get further platinums.

somewhat surprised that LION KING isn't on the list.  I guess a lot of people just buy the film soundtrack instead?

Lion King OBC has made it to Platinum, just not double. I do agree it is shocking, I would have expected much higher sales.
