Hamilton - Sunday cast

Is it true that understudies/alternate cast members perform the Sunday shows for Hamilton on Broadway? If so, I would love to hear thoughts on the cast (and where I may find a list of the cast members). Thanks in advance!

Was true that Lin took Sunday off... don't think that is still the case.

Hi andrea2! The current Broadway cast can be found here: https://www.hamiltonbroadway.com/#newyork-cast

Currently, there are no "scheduled" off dates for anybody in the Broadway production. Javier Muñoz, currently Hamilton, usually misses at least a performance or two a week due to his injury, but it's no longer really predictable which performance that'll be. Everybody else in the cast is scheduled for all eight shows a week.

^i think it's still the case. At least it's the case in Chicago so I would assume the same for NY.

It's not really the case, as official as Lin's off date used to be. I believe Javi officially took off Tuesday nights a while back, then switched over to Sundays at some point, but now I think it really depends on the daily severity of his injury.

Last I heard, Donald Webber Jr was on as AHam every sunday. Javi frequently misses performances because of a injury, and when he does the role is covered by Jevon Mcferrin

After Lin left, while Javi was healthy, he would do 7 shows a week and Michael Luwoye would do Sunday matinees.

Since Luwoye left and Javi's injury flared up, the schedule seems much more erratic.

Javi has been doing 6 shows a week  (Tues-Sat evenings) for the last few months. Donald Webber, Jr. has been doing the matinees on Wednesdays and Sundays. Jevon McFerrin is the standby is neither Javi nor Donald can perform on their regularly scheduled performances.

Great - thanks for the feedback, everyone. Much appreciated! I have tix to see the show on a Sunday in August -- I've been dying to see it forever. As much as I wish it was the original cast, I'm just thrilled to see Hamilton on Broadway!

I am not 100% sure if it was just rumoured or confirmed by Javi, but word is it was his back. He took a bit of time off, tried to jump back into things, and ended up re-injuring it worse. He's been slowly working his way back up to full shows, I believe he did his first two show day in a while just recently. 

andrea2 - you're likely to see Donald Webber Jr, but I've heard plenty of good things about him. As for the rest of the cast, I don't know of any scheduled absences but you never know who will be out on a given day. The main cast is quite large, I don't know the percentages of how often every member of the cast is in but the understudies are also very talented (Especially the ladies, Elizabeth Judd and Syndee Winters both do some incredible work)

I was there last night, and there were several understudies (Eliza, Burr, & Washington, plus a few ensemble members). I don't know if there's a bug going around the Rodgers...I've never seen so many understudies in one night. They were all wonderful, though! I love seeing understudies. Javier was on last night.
