I loved the play. I thought it was great. Just a few comments....

I thought Steven Boyer was great. Amazing. I also loved Geneva Carr very much, but had the strange thought that I was watching Julie White's understudy. I know Julie is doing Airline Highway, but Hand To God would have been an excellent role for her.

I didn't quite understand why Sarah Stiles was nominated for a Tony. I love Sarah but she wasn't anything to remember in this production. The other two guys... Mark Kudush and the other kid were also excellent. I could have seen one of them nominated.

I went to the matinee and the audience was very well behaved and attentive. I think in general  the masses are uprising when someone either keeps a cellphone on or their cell phone rings. I think people have no tolerance for it anymore. I think that works far better than an usher yelling. Most people have had it with cell phones in the theatre.

I really loved this play, very disappointed that it was shut out at the Tony awards. Steven Boyer was amazing, and I hope to see it again when I get back in town.

I saw Sarah Stiles in Steel Magnolias in the fall and thought she was adorable!

My Hand to God audience was also extremely attentive--laughing and gasping like crazy, totally with the play..  It's funny:  my friend went to see Skylight while I went to see Hand to God and he said the Skylight audience was terrible.  Cell phones going off like crazy, lots of coming and going during act one, some chatting people near him.  I guess our audience was so enraptured with the rude behavior on stage we wanted to be at our very best.
