Hanke's last Rent?

Hey- Does anyone actually know when Christopher J. Hanke's last show will be? I've heard it's in November, but I definitely want to get up there for his last.

He just started 14 days ago.

re: Hanke's last Rent?

yea I know. Which makes the leaving in November thing suck even more.

re: Hanke's last Rent?

All that is known for sure is that he is leaving in November because he has another commitment. The hot rumor on the street is that he may have a TV show.

Damn, I have to see this guy soon...

Wow, that isn't very long at all. I want to see him, but I don't want to go back before November.

re: Hanke's last Rent?

That blows. I was hoping to see him in December, he was one of the main reason I wanted to get back up to NYC. I thought he'd be in it for at least a year. What was the point of even hiring him?

re: Hanke's last Rent?

To fill in for now and to be a good person to ask back later if needed, maybe?

re: Hanke's last Rent?

True, it just seems weird to hire an entirely new person to just come in for a few months, I would think they'd just let the understudy go on or something. Oh well, I guess that's one less show I have to see.

re: Hanke's last Rent?

Honestly, even if he's only there for a little bit, I'm glad I got to see him at all. Definitely an experience I wouldn't give up.

And I would love it if he'd get asked back later. He's too good to just come and leave us.

re: Hanke's last Rent?

Uh Oh, time for them to call Caplan back yet again to totally decimate a once touching role!
#16

re: Hanke's last Rent?

Ahh what would a thread regarding the role of Mark be without Caplan bashing? *rolls eyes* He's in a new show anyways.

re: Hanke's last Rent?

I still love Caplan as well. I just...gar. Hanke just touches something. I can't explain it.

re: Hanke's last Rent?

Of course, how could it not be when people out there have other opinions than yours? I liked him the first time 3 years ago and all 3 times after that were a complete drag-down. You may disagree, but that is what I feel, he ruined the chemistry onstage.

As for Hanke, I would love to hear more of what people think of him, it must feel wonderful having a nice fresh face in the role. As for any replacements, which is unfortunate in such a short run, I just hope they have better judgment to cast someone in the role who brings something new to the show.

re: Hanke's last Rent?

He was cast in Crybaby which was set to premiere in Seattle in Feb. But I'm not sure if that's still on schedule.

I do hope chris comes back though. I was happy that they replaced matt with someone good...because the recent cast replacment (nicole lewis)...ugh

I just hope we don't get another celeb into the role of mark.
I'd hate to see Rent turn into chicago.

re: Hanke's last Rent?

I just saw the show yesterday. Hanke was good. Really good. He does the cutest little "happy dance" when Joanne says, "Pookie? You never called me pookie before," at the end of Tango: Maureen.

Karmine isn't leaving any time soon is she? Any chance she'll get back into a "real" role? I miss her!
"I wrote a book: "How to Be Popular". Now I've put together a top ten list of how to help you: -Elphie, everyday... shower. I mean, who knows? Maybe some of that green is gonna come off! -Deodorant Elphie. No body likes a stinky witch! -I think we've covered the hair, we'll get to that. -Clean underclothes. That's all I'm gonna say. -Look at your posture. That's no way to be popular! -Bed made, room straightened. We've done that. -Colors blended. Oookay. -But the most important thing to have, to make yourself popular, is to keep your beautiful smile." ~Kristin Chenoweth in her last performance of the song "Popular"

Karmine isn't going to step in full time anytime soon.
After Antonique leaves, Jaime Lee Kirchner taking over the role

I love karmine, you can hradly tell that she's too old to play mimi

re: Hanke's last Rent?

If you can hardly tell, then she's not too old. She's only too old if there are on-stage indications of her actual age, which there are not. It's not about how old she is in comparison to how old Mimi is -- not in terms of mere chronology, at least.
