Congrats to Chitty! I hope it continues to play through November, as I really want to see this and Spelling Bee and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Spamalot (yeah right!) and Peter Pan.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

heh, such a surprise, zep. But yeah, we went tonight (happy one hundreth, CHITTY!)
I hope Erin's feeling better soon. Julie was fine, though, not that it's a part with all too much depth. However, I do like Erin a lot better; she's got more presence, she's funnier and much more sarcastic, and has a far stronger belt.
The audience is still just eating out of Jan Maxwell's hand. She is f*cking BRILLIANT.
And... Raúl. He just gets better and better. He sounded absolutely GORGEOUS this evening, though he did get off to a bit of a rocky start; he kept dropping things! He's got slightly better chemistry with Julie than he does with Erin, though. Potts certainly had a bit of a sex drive tonight. heh. Knock-out, kick-ass performance, as always.
I love this cast, and I freaking ADORE this show. To many hundreds more....

Adorable as ever! I didn't hang around the stage door today, though. Raúl's not been signing lately, anyway.

Hmmm...he dropped a few lines, eh? Well, Maggie Benjamin told me that in Equity, you get fined for mistakes...some are fined $250. It's what I heard from an Equity member...believe me when I say it. So, basically, I'm just saying that I hope Raul didn't get fined for it...:-/

Well, he dropped an egg: "that's a strong egg!"
Then Henry dropped a plate: "Nothing breaks in this house!"
There are a few that I've seen resurface two or three times, though. Like when he's dancing with the kids: "I feel like I'm in a MUSICAL!" They're fun, since you never know what he's going to do.
