Happy 86th birthday my dear man.  You have brought so much joy, happiness, and jobs all around.  Your contributions to our culture are beyond.  And you are such a sweet and gentle soul.  I salute you.

I met him about 20 or so years ago.  A nice man.  He would be so pleased with Bette's Dolly.  I am hoping more first class revivals of his work keep popping up.  Happy Birthday Jerry!

A little second hand birdie told me that he has seen portions of the current production via FaceTime ( or something like that)  and is beyond thrilled.  I hope his health allows him to see it live.  But he is 86.  God Bless you Jerry Herman.

I walked into a bar in Key West one evening and Jerry Herman was at the piano-what a thrill.
