I was introduced to Sondheim in November 2005 when the John Doyle-revival of SWEENEY TODD had just opened. I became obsessed with the preview clips on Broadway.com, and then bought the CD, and became obsessed with that too (although I did, like others, think at first that the man never met an very hard-to-get-used-to melody he didn't like).
I soon became interested in his other works, my second being ASSASSINS, and then PASSION, and... well, needless to say, Mr. Sondheim, you are my absolute favorite theater writer, and may you continue to create great works in as much time as you need (whether you be 78 or 101)!
