You guys really caught me off guard! Thanks for the Birthday Thread!

Yes, tomorrow will be my 56th birthday (no comments, Albin!) and I'll be celebrating it with a flight to Europe. (Reminder, tomorrow is a Holy Day, so all you Catholics better get to Mass!)

I won't be heading directly to Lourdes, I'll spend a few days in Belgium, visiting the country and meeting a few friends. I head to Lourdes on August 22nd.

I know there is an Internet Cafe near the railroad station in Lourdes, and I'll be posting messages from there. However, if I get Internet access in Belgium, I'll certainly make use of it.

Tonight my youngest son and I are celebrating my birthday a day early. He's taking me to the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor to see the Julie Andrews-directed production of THE BOYFRIEND with a seafood dinner beforehand. Will try to post a review of it before I leave!

My son and I were on our way to Sag Harbor for a leisurely seafood dinner and THE BOYFRIEND at the Bay Street Theater when Long Island lost its power (a bit after 4 PM). Learning that this was a major black-out, we turned around and came home. The evening consisted of a barbeque and playing chess by candlelight. We wound up sleeping on our screened-in deck because the house was so uncomfortable without a/c. Hence, I'm not able to post a review of THE BOYFRIEND. (My son has promised to take me to a Mets game when I get back from Europe. Seeing Mike Piazza in action might make up for not being able to see Justin Bohon dancing up a storm.)
