Candide Overture: Leonard Bernstein conducting
Happy Birthday Mr. Bernstein and thank you! My life has been enriched by your beautiful compositions.
Happy Birthday sir!
Looks like I know which Spotify playlist I'll be listening to today. I think I will start with Chichester Psalms.
I just listened to that last week!
Big revelation today: "Prelude, Fugue and Riffs," a 1947 jazz piece for solo clarinet and jazz ensemble. He wrote it for Woody Herman's big band but performed it on television in 1955 with Benny Goodman.
I never really heard it before or paid much attention to it. It's a minor piece but so much fun.
This is a television performance of it, not the one with Benny Goodman, but a good one.

Love his work!
And Clive Owen should play him in a biopic.
