Posted: 2/21/08 at 11:12amI hope they get all of the raves they deserve. Didn't Brantley love it in London?

Well of course Brantley loved it in London, they'd hardly transfer a show that he hated, would they?
And has Brantley hated any British import?

He doesn't like everything from the UK. I don't even know where you'd get that from.
He didn't like MARY POPPINS, for one.

Posted: 2/21/08 at 12:01pmFair enough, then. I guess it was his bizarro adoration of such (to me, at least) useless Britimports as ROCK AND ROLL and HISTORY BOYS and COAST OF UTOPIA that had me thinking that.

Well, VOYAGE and the first half of SHIPWRECK were good plays. HISTORY BOYS and ROCK AND ROLL were crap.
But that's a discussion for another thread. Happy opening, and all that.

Posted: 2/21/08 at 2:54pmWell, the raves for those three plays were nearly universal - not just from Brantley.

Posted: 2/21/08 at 3:01pmAh, yes, the old "if the critics liked them they must be good" argument to disarm someone who dares have his own opinions on something. How tiresome.
