Posted: 3/5/14 at 12:03pmI saw it in Atlanta and really enjoyed it. It was in good shape and I'm interested to see if any changes were made. Especially strong were: Shayne Kennon, Hannah Corneau, and Will Blum (probably because their material was the "best"). I'm interested to see if Leigh Ann Larkin has added anything to her performance. I felt she was rather flat and not finding the full depth of her character. I can't wait to hear what others think of it.

Posted: 3/5/14 at 1:40pmNY critics would rip it as Manilow is lower than low. He writes dreaded pop music people enjoy.

Yes, I don't have my hopes high that the critics will accept it, but I hope it gets an opportunity at a Broadway run. Having seen a production (bus and truck, one night only) of Copacabana, Harmony is vastly superior.
Also, if you have the Manilow Scores CD (Copacabana and Harmony songs), there were/are changes to "And What Do You See?" (major to minor key, I think) and "In This World" is now a performance number while recording a movie.
It is dramatic and emotional. Probably too much so for some people's taste. Comedies aren't my thing. I love shows that make me "feel" something.
Some have criticized Harmony for not using music by the Comedian Harmonists themselves. Well, that could have been done, I guess. But it wasn't. That's not what this show is, so...
I want to hear as many details as possible. Enjoy the show.

Posted: 3/5/14 at 2:56pmI'm not going to be able to make it to LA and I REALLY want to see this. I don't mind spoilers, so I guess this will be my go-to thread for a while!

Actors Equity in Los Angeles had comps last week for all next week. I have no idea if they still have them.. but worth checking out. They are at 6755 Hollywood Blvd, 5th floor. Oh.. and this info came to me second hand.

Saw the show last night. I enjoyed it, it was a nice night of theatre. Shout out to Goldstar for wonderful seats.
Not exactly my type of show, but I've also been thinking about it all day- mostly due to the heavy subject matter.
The cast were all great. Sure Leigh Ann Larkin's character felt a little forced at some moments. Also the ending needs major work. Even the lady next to me commented on the ending.
My biggest complaint of the show was I didn't find the group that funny. They sounded fine vocally, but only fine. They didn't sound like they had been rehearsing and touring for years like in the show. If they are billed as comedians, I expected to laugh a little more during their routines. Sure the waiter number was funny, as where the puppets, but that is the only real comedy I got from them.
The sets and costumes were great, no complaints from me there.
Would I recommend this show? Sure. Maybe not to everyone, especially if I know they tend to like something a little more light. My mother, on the other hand, would have loved it.

Posted: 3/6/14 at 7:21pmemo.. I also saw it last night... I think you are being too kind. The whole thing is overproduced and kind of dull. And I totally agree with you... the group is just not funny.
