I'm curious to hear about this before buying a ticket too. I think Crudup is terrific, but the marketing blurb for the plot doesn't sound all that intriguing to me.
I really enjoyed this but then again I am a huge Billy Crudup fan. He is really terrific, and it's a treat to watch him for 90 minutes. The play itself is a bit slight, and reminded me of The Talented Mr. Ripley, but I recommend it just for Crudup's performance alone.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.
This is coming back! It'll play the Minetta Lane Theater for 10 weeks beginning next month. The show was a NY Times Critic's Pick, but not many BWW folks responded here. Any additional thoughts? Also: does anyone know if the discount code can be used at the box office to avoid fees?
I sat through this the other night and found it certainly very well performed, and very nicely produced, and just not at all interesting. With its self-pitying simp of a main character and its, shall we say, very familar storyline, it's like some combination of Dear Evan Hansen and The Talented Mr. Ripley. But it has more to do with the schlocky snivelling of DEH than the tasty sharpness of TMR.

Saw this last Tuesday, and it was just ok. Billy Crudup is an engaging story-teller, but I find his accent all over the place though. Sometimes I can't distinguish if Harry or Mark is speaking.
Saw it this evening and loved it. He is quite charming and handsome witch works for this performance. And he just seemed so at ease and really having fun. And great to see him in an intimate space. It flew by. (An hour and twenty minutes although they tell yo 90 minutes when you walk in)
