Harry Potter On Broadway

Just think about it, would'nt it be crazy? I mean, with all the money behind HP, they could probably pull it off. I hope they dont think of making it into a musical.

With Lord of the Rings comming to stage, I'm suprised plans for it havent started.

re: Harry Potter On Broadway

it would end up like the lotr musical they're doing....i mean there's so much to the hp series they'd have to narrow it down, take stuff out and take away from the story...plus, which year would they do....stuff liek that could make it dificult

re: Harry Potter On Broadway

I agree, it would turn out alot like the LotR musical I think. Also to make it a really good, believable show and not some cheesy children's singalong the special effects would need to be astounding. But even so, I wish they'd leave it alone already. Maybe it's just because I'm a bookworm at heart but I feel that the series has been somewhat tainted almost with all the movies, and merchandising, and now musical ideas etc. My thoughts on it are just be happy with the original literature and stop trying to hawk new ideas for even more money.

re: Harry Potter On Broadway

They probably could do it besides the amazingly huge sets and the flying and levitating. I heard they are inventing a real invisibility cloak! Interesting huh?

re: Harry Potter On Broadway

Lotr is Lord of the Rings- which should never have become a musical. 3 hours per book? This is ridiculous.

HP would be equally stupid. I love those books, but I just don't know...ew. Do a little jig, Harry!

re: Harry Potter On Broadway

LotR seriously became a musical? Like, it already came out?

re: Harry Potter On Broadway

I can see it happening but...*shudders* I think it wouldn't turn out so well. They'd probably wait til all the books/movies were out as well. Which could be a while still. I'm wondering on how LotR is going to turn out?

re: Harry Potter On Broadway

Yep, LotR is in the making. There's been a clip floating around of the production and it's set to officially open in Canada. I think there's also a version of the story playing in London according to my friend. (and she's a LotR obsessive, I trust her knowledge on the matter. :-P)
