Spider - you can't know everything - there's too much out there to know
I'm not familiar with any of his works. I understand he's well thought of by many people.

Posted: 9/2/04 at 1:57amOMG. you don't know everything. I am dissapointed at you DGrant. You have destroyed me. Now I must take my shrine to you down. hehe. Anyway, JRB is a genius. SFANW is good, but PARADE is his masterpiece. Also, Last 5 Years is great too

Posted: 9/2/04 at 1:59amoh, sure. Like JATATD really stands for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Is it that hard to type out "Songs For A New World"??? Especially since it's not extremely well known. Half of us get it and the other half sit here puzzled. If I can type out Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (that's twice now) you can type out frikin' "Songs For A New World". Pretty soon everything is gonna be abbreviated. Btw has any 1 s/n SP???? Updated On: 9/2/04 at 01:59 AM

spider - build monuments to no one - they just get torn down or disintegrate over time
His work has appeared over the last few years, and I've been busy falling in love and living the most important thing in my life. I'll catch up to his work - I'm sure it isn't going anywhere.

Posted: 9/2/04 at 2:05amspider - he was actually here in LA not too long ago at the cinegrill doing an evening of his stuff in a cabaret setting. We were going to go, but then had to back out. I am curious, if for no other reason than his name keeps coming up!

Happy cats? Get some sleep and don't be so grouchy! haha.
Jason Robert Brown is among Sondheim as one of the best composers ever in my book, I just wish he were more well known.

He doesn't seem to be that old - his time will come - he already has a Tony, so we're off to a good start

I don't think anyone is Better than Sondheim YET! But Jason Robert Brown is making his way up there!
I have seen college productions of SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD- let's just say this show can either be done BEAUTIFULLY, or as a HUGE DISASTER! Because not only does this show take AMAZING SINGERS, they have to be AMAZING ACTORS to pull off such a variety of songs.
