If so, please can I ask you some questions?

Yes for a short while I was Mr. Hart.

Thanks - was your production the same as the tour version?
Did you use the projections of Dolly narrating the show?
I'm trying to work out exactly what version is licensed now - the Broadway, US and UK tour versions are all different.

Yes. I did one of the first regional productions of the show after it became available. It matches the US tour. "Always A Woman" has been cut. Songs are re-ordered. Dolly does the opening narration and the epilogue.
The synopsis on MTI's website is correct with all the changes.

Thanks all. Does anyone know if the narration video is optional or do people just drop it if they can't manage the tech side of it?
Could it be audio instead of video?
From what I recall, it's optional. We used it, but if the technology isn't available, there's no loss.
Not sure if there's just an audio option...
And I'm pretty sure it's at least the tour script. "Always A Woman", used on Broadway, is not included.
Edit: Just saw the previous posts regarding which version.
My high school recently did it, I wasn't personally in it but saw it and there was a voice-over by Parton, not a video.

The production I was involved in use the voice over and not the projections. Sometimes the audio messed up and they the actors just spoke it. I left the show early in the process. It was an awful company.

From what I hear my school's production was similarly terrible, company wise.

I am currently directing a production. Yes, it is the US Tour script and score. Yes the projections come with the rights. They send along a DVD with the video files and also a audio only alternative. Although lots of people talk about cutting them, they are in the script so are legally required unless you get written permission from the rights holders as that would be considered a 'cut'. Let me know if you have any other questions.
