Hi! First of all, I did a search, and this topic wasn't there, so hopefully I'm not being a repeat-er. Alright, to my question. Has anyone ever seen The Drowsy Chaperone when Bob Martin was out? And if so, does the understudy do well in the role, or not good at all, or just pretty good? I'm seeing Drowsy for the second time for my birthday with my friends (on October 15), and if for some reason he's out, I want to know if the understudy is going to be just as good as Bob for my friends (and me, but let's not be selfish). Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you have a reason to think he'll be out that day? And I don't think he's ever missed a show, but I could be wrong.

Actually I'd be curious about the experience of the show with Bob Martin out as well.

I guess it's kinda like seeing an understudy for one of the [tos] guys. Interesting.

[title of show] on Broadway. it's time. believe.

I couldn't fathom any one else playing Man In Chair seeing as Martin was absolutley perfect - and why shouldn't he be? A co-writer and star?
But yes, if anyone sees an understudy perform please do tell about him!

And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.
