Is this Il Trovatore or La Traviata? :)

Only opera I ever saw seriously booed was a production of GIOVANNI in which the title character made his entrance from inside a dead horse.

There's also an infamous production of Strauss' THE BAT which the director staged as taking part in the 1930s, with the Act Tree jail a concentration camp. The audience was so vicious in its response that he had to be escorted out a side door for his own safety. Ironically, it's now available on DVD,

When I saw Miss Saigon at the Ahmanson a looong time ago, the audience booed the woman playing "Ellen", because she stole away Chris from Kim.

Sad for the actress though. She was fabulous...don't recall her name.

Also she had a line that went something like, "I've been bad, very bad." Someone shouted from the mez, "you are bad!"
