Anyone?? If so, what show and when did they boo?
I've been hearing from old video clips et al about a few experiences where audience members booed. Were you one of them!?
And have you ever felt the urge to boo during a show? If so, when?

I wanted to boo during Spamalot. I saw it the day before it won the Tony and Sara Ramirez was out. Her understudy was terrible and sang "Diva's Lament" in a totally wrong key for most of the song. One of the worst experiences I've ever had in a Broadway show.
O yes, and when I saw Beauty and the Beast ten years ago, Gaston was booed at his curtain call. Poor Marc Kudisch.

Children's shows don't count! They always boo the villain.
I saw The Music Teacher off-Broadway last year, and people didn't so much boo as groan and talk back throughout several parts of that horrible production. I felt really bad for the cast, but the audience was angry at how bad the script and the staging were. It was a fabulously uncomfortable experience.

Thats right! I forgot he was booed!

I think it's rather cute when they boo the villain in a children's show. It means that you've captivated the audience enough for them to have a reaction towards you. It's never meant as a personal attack at the performer, just the character. But no, I really did want to boo Sara Ramirez's understudy. You'd think she had enough practice with all of Sara's absences, right?

Now I'll lay the guilt on:

WickedGeek, I was just about to say the same thing.
But I saw SPAMALOT the first performance after the Tonys and Sara was out also. That show so did not do it for me. No booing though.

Wow, that is terrible.
But it doesn't make me regret how I felt about her performance.
How recent was this?

Wow, I didn't know Scott played Maureen.
But, I don't know...okay yes its cute when kids boo but when parents are egging them on to do so it's a bit ridiculous. I mean, when the actors bow, the response they get should be for their performance not for how evil the part they played was. For me, if someone really convinces you that they're evil, you should APPLAUD them even louder, not boo. Especially if you're an adult.

Well, yes, all right, parents shouldn't egg their kids to boo at a curtain call. That is rather childish. But it is sometimes hard for the kids to differentiate between a performance by an actor and the character, especially if they are quite young and new to the theatre. Their parents have no excuse.

She was even sick at the Tonys. I think it's a miracle that she was able to belt it out the way she did there. Kudos to her.

The entire audience booed at the first preview of Bring Back Birdie on January 26, 1981. After the song "filth" (which was sung by a kids rock band while sitting on toilets and flushing them), the curtain came down on Act 1 and the audience booed. "Filth" was cut after that performance. Unfortunately, I was not there (I wasn't even alive), but I wish I had been.

Somehow I highly doubt this is true
