Have you ever bought two of the same cast recording?

Ok, this is how you know you're really addicted.

I pre-ordered The Producers movie soundtrack, right? Ok, so over thanksgiving break...I go to the mall and I find it at FYE.

And I buy it.

Knowing perfectly well that it would be waiting for me in my mailbox.

And this isn't the first time I've done this. I bought two of the Dreamgirls OBC too. I can't remember why, but i didn't get it online either time.

Heh.

So yeah, has anyone ever bought two of the same cast recording and why?

I haven't bought two physical copies, but I do have two copies of a few. Before I had a job, I downloaded many full albums (I know, very bad, but...). However, once I had money, I've gone out and purchased about 90% of the ones I had downloaded. There's just something about having the CD jewel case and booklet in your hands...

ETA: Thought of one. The Rent soundtrack. My had my copy (Mark), and my mother wanted a copy (and I refused to burn it for her). So, I told her to go out and buy a 'green one'. So, now I have two cover sleeves, and one CD. Updated On: 11/27/05 at 11:08 PM

I used to have three copies of Civilian. Not a cast recording, but close.

I gave one to a friend to whom I owed money so she didn't have to buy it, and one to my younger brother.

But I did actually buy them all. I show my support!

Rent soundtrack. I preordered it on Amazon, then changed my mind and bought it on iTunes and cancelled the other order. But then I realized I wanted a real CD so I went and bought the Mark one.

And I had to get another copy of the Rent OBCR because I wore out my first one. I didn't realize you could wear out CDs until then.

Not on purpose, but when I got my Wicked bcr there were 2 cd's in the case. A packaging mistake, I assume...

Well, I bought the highlights of the Les Mis Symphonic, then liked it so much I went out and bought the complete... ditto with the highlights of the OBC of Cats and the OLC of Phantom. Does that count?

I think the only time was for HAIRSPRAY. My Amazon order, I noticed, was delayed, so I bought it in a store - the amazon.com one is still in shrinkwrap.

Twice, sort of.

The first time was before I was really into Les Miz, and I bought the CSR highlights. Later on, I bought the full thing.

The second was when Amazon couldn't send me my pre-ordered La Bohème OBC CD fast enough (well, in my impatient, warped mind, anyway), and I bought it at Virgin the day it came out, then sold the copy that eventually arrived, to a friend.

Yep.
I wore out two cd's of Avenue Q and Hairspray.
Avenue Q warped in the Sun on Guana Island last Jan and I had to buy another. Same thing happened to Hairspray.
I bought them both in the theater at 20.
Worth every penny. Wish I had found ebay last year. LOL.
I actually ordered another Q on ebay just in case.
