With Terrence Mann we stopped and talked with him for like 5 minutes - really nice guy. With Nathan, he was rushing by to get to "The frogs" at Lincoln Center.
Saw Brooke Shields in the audience at DRS (the night after Wonderful Town closed), signed the playbill for us, was very nice also.

I spilled coffee on Barbara Cook in an elevator.
It was her fault, she stopped short, who does that walking into an empty elevator???

Bumped into Amy (who actually plays Amy in 'Little Women') at Rosie O'Grady's restaurant and had a really nice chat with her. The girl is a sweetheart.
Also saw (don't know his real name) Professor Baher from 'Little Women' five times on the street so far. Not exactly well-known stars, but I've seen them.
Harvey Fierstein likes to walk with his bodyguard a lot and the composers of Avenue Q were walking to the theater one time as well.
Good lord, I've lived here almost 15 years and I can't begin to count the number of Broadway and movie stars I've passed on the street. When I first moved here and was persuing a career in Theatre, it was so exciting - my friends and I would make a game of it and call each other - "Guess who I just saw on the STREET!!"...nowadays I just nudge my boyfriend and say - something like "hey look, Elizabeth Berkeley."..and we keep on moving...
i've seen adam fleming walking down 45th street, kathy brier at a deli, john hill on his way to dare, michael shawn lewis and john tags many places. chestry gregory at a pizza place, becky gulzig and tomar wilson at a deli. i saw michael arden at random places this fall. berandeete peters by urban outfitters. ive also seen mario cantone and ann harada walking on 8th ave. when i saw taboo hollie howard was sitting behind me and when i saw good vibirations some of the nicest kids in town(serge kushiner, peter matthew smith, camron adams and linday chambers) were next to me . i saw matt morrison a couple weeks ago by hairspray. and ive seen shoshana bean around a few times. and when i was at starbucks about 2 weeks ago eden esponiza and aaron lohr were there. euan morton once too

I saw Mario Cantone at the final performance of The Frogs, and ended up walking behind him for a few blocks afterwards. It probably looked like I was stalking him, but we were just going the same way!
And I saw Andy Senor from RENT randomly around Times Square.
many many times throughout the years.......have actually had lovely conversations on the streets with:
Tyne Daly
Harry Groener
Ann Reinking
Bernadette Peters
Larry Blyden
Phyllis Diller
Monty Hall
Tony Roberts
Anne Meara
Mickey Rooney
Judith Lowery
Mark Baker
(those last two were over 20 years ago and on the subway! Judith Lowery was always the very old lady in a ton of things including the tv series PHYLLIS and was in a James Bond film--was shocked she was waiting on a subway platform--I approached her and said Miss Lowery????? She was so frail and old but her mind sharp as a tack, but I was shocked she was riding the subway.
Mark Baker( I believe that was his name ) starred in the Hal Prince/Sondheim revival of CANDIDE in the title role. He was warm, adorable and friendly and I wish the subway ride had lasted longer.
p.s. lots lots more..........i will list them as they come to mind, if I remember:)
I've walked past a whole bunch.. but they life in the city so there bound to leave there theater at some point! lol.. they are real people folks
that's why i love just walking around. there's always a good chance that someone fun is going to walk by! my favorite was the time that john tartaglia crashed right into me in shubert alley. he was so aplogetic and it took me a second to realize that it was him. i definitley had a silent freak out moment.
wow, i don't know what i would do if i saw idina on my subway car...lol
Katecab, if you run into Idina on the subway, kindly do not ask her to try defying gravity on the D train.........this woman clearly has powers we do not wanna mess with! :)

It's really not that rare. If you live in the city, and spend any time at all walking around, you're bound to run into some of these people, especially in the theatre district. I mean, they have to go to work everyday so they're obviously going to be walking the sidewalks in that area. I've been going to school in the city for a year and a half and I don't think a week has gone by that I haven't seen someone 'famous'.
I ran up to Judy Kuhn on the street and complimented her.
I waited on Eden Espinosa, Ann Harada, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Vanessa Williams, Frank Langella, George Hamilton, Dee hoty, and Celeste Holm.
Lillias White stood in front of me in line at McDonald's, a couple of years before I had an invitation to her dressing room in Dinah Was.
I was eating dinner at Joe Allen's with the director David Saint, when not only was Al Pacino sitting at the table next to us, Bryan Batt came over, sat at our table, and we had a conversation. That same night, the whole revival cast of Company was there. I met Scott Ellis, but LaChanze walked past, and I never got to say anything to her.
I met Joey MacIntyre at the Broadway flea market.

I'm jealous of the person who saw VINCE VAUGHN. I love that man.
Sorry on topic. I've seen Idina on the subway. I've seen Craig Bierko, around where I work. I saw Ethan Hawke in Central and made eye contact with him. It took me a secodn to realize who it was because I remember thinking that man looks cute and kind of like Ethan Hawke. But Ethan Hawke hasn't looked good in a bit. But I was wrong because he had that smirk on his face like I know you know who I am.
I've seen a lot of other celebrities around but they aren't on broadway so it's not important.
Oh, Colin Firth and I locked eyes. :)
i passed barrett foa once and bebe newirth (spellings? - sorry)

How could I forget this one? I sat beside Carol Channing at a performance at Lincoln Center. She's the most beautiful woman in the world.
My friends and I stood in line at a Burger King with Stephanie D'Abruzzo and Ann Harada and they were really sweet. We also saw Patrick Wilson eating pizza on 8th Ave. One time my friend was walking in Times Square, talking about how Shoshana was taking over for Idina and the person in front of them turns around, and it's Shoshana. Go figure!

that's about it RANDOMLY walking around-the others i just follow :) lol
Hi, new to the board, thought I'd chime in. Actually, just tonight I saw Jenna Leigh Green walking down 42nd street looking disheveled, but still pretty. I miss her in Bare. She was good on Sabrina. Maybe she was coming from rehearsal for the Wicked tour which I can't wait to see her in.
I was exiting the Broadway store by the Marquis, hoping that I could "bump into" a Broadway star that was in Millie. I got to "bump into" Susan Egan. I got a picture with her.
One time, I also took a random picture of the Marquis Theater. I got the picture developed, and there was a guy who kind of looked like Richard Gere. He was wearing a trenchcoat, SNL hat, and was talking on a cell phone. Maybe he worked for SNL.
