You know, it didn't used to ever happen to me but I've been in New York more regularly lately.
I once saw Matthew Broderick in the park. I few weeks ago I passed Gavin Creel walking down Waverly. And just the other night I saw Chris Noth. Not a broadway star but Law and Order counts for something! I would NEVER say anything to them though.

I was walking briskly through the village a couple years ago on my way to the subway and I almost walked head on into John Lithgow. (who was NOT amused...hehe).

Yup, it's happened. Ran into the cast of Avenue Q in a restaurant once, and Lisa Brescia in a coffee shop not too long ago.

well I saw one of the violinists from Wicked once- does that count? heh

In New york, the celebrities always love to flaunt how "down to earth" they are. I saw Sarah Jessica Parker in a Duane Reade buying diapers. I walked into the Starbucks opposite the Lyceum Theatre back when "I Am My Own Wife" was still playing, and Jefferson Mays was sitting in one of the comfy chairs, reading the Times and drinking a latte.

I almost never do... I wish I would, even though I'd never get up the courage to actually SAY something.
Oh wait. About two weeks ago, I saw Good Vibrations, and right afterwards I saw one of the ensemble members making out with his girlfriend right outside a coffee shop. haha.

Saw Kristin Chenoweth at Josie's Restaurant, Chris Fitzgerald by my apt on the UWS, Bernadette Peters on 72nd, cast of Ave Q at the bowling alley at Port Authority, Mario Cantone in Times Square, Harvey Fierstein walking around the street by Hairspray, can't think of who else now

Neil Patrick Harris walked past my friend and i in times square!!!! he had this huge grin on his face, so cute!! After he passed we turned to each other and freaked out.

If you hang out anywhere near the theatre district, you will see someone. Also, several eat at Cafe Edison inside Hotel Edison on 47th Street between Broadway and 8th Ave. It's a cheap, out of the way restaurant. I can't tell you how many actors and playwrights I've seen eating there.

Most of the time when I see Broadway actors its on 8th Ave. In on day I saw Adam Pascal on his way to Aida, Jennifer Barnhart, and Ann Harada talking to people about being pregnant(before it had been announced.) I have also seen Matt Caplan, Barrett Foa, John Tartaglia, and several cast members walking on 8th. I also saw Rebecca Luker around Lincoln Center as well as Stephen Schwatrz walking down 10th. Oh and I saw Nancy Anderson going into a Rite Aid and then the Duane Reade across the street on the UWS. I thought it was funny, she came out empty handed both times, and I went to both stores looking for something and neither had was I was looking for either. I also saw Jennifer Westfeldt at Columbus Circle.

I saw Eric McCormack walking his dogs between matinee and evening performances of THE MUSIC MAN a few years ago. He and I wound up having coffee togther at an outdoor cafe.

I know a woman who use to work at Random House and went out to smoke one day and she saw this woman walking towards her and reconizedher and thought she knew her and she started to think they went to high school together and she smiledat the woman and got ready to talk to and she said HEY and the woman gave her a confused look and said hi and kept on walking and she Susan(my friend) realized it was Helen hunt and she new her from TV

Sorry for the cynicism. Now, Ive seen Fred Molina walking around on a Saturday afternoon near the Minskoff. I said hello as he had recently been teaching at my acting studio. Thats it for "walking stars." Ive seen Curt Loder from MTV on the streets a ton. BUt he is neither a broadway star, nor a star, nor anything really besides a middle aged guy pathetically still hanging around MTV far past his prime.

back when she was still in RENT, i ran into Daphne Rubin-Vega down in the village. i told her ''thank you'' and she gave me a big hug and said ''you're welcome''.

this is a funny story.
Right before Caroline or Change, I was across the street at the Ambassador looking at the Chicago posters. And i turned to my left and there i saw her: Dierdre Goodwin. Oh. my. god. i just stood there. she was walking really fast. so i decided you know, im gonna go say hi. so i start walking and this damn woman with this walker comes out of nowhere and steps right in front of me. i was like "oh my god! move bitch!" she ignored me. it was like the universe was stopping me from seeing this woman. so dierdre's head starts to get smaller and the lady just keeps ****ing walking as slow as her bowel movement and im
now ready to trip her, or push her or something. to make a long story short she got away. if it wasnt for that damned crippled ass woman.

I saw Jai, I think Enrico, and the guy who played the football player(can't remember his name) walking to McDonald's after seeing Zanna, Don't! I was in my own world and kept looking up when my mom and friend were pointing them out to me. This is the conversation my mom heard though:
"What's that?"
