Grey Gardens! See it!

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Between those 2, I'd say Grey Gardens. Christine is well worth it.

Spring Awakening. Christine is wonderful but the show itself I found to be very lacking.

Grey Gardens. You can see Spring Awakening if you plan on going back to New York anytime between now and the next ten years.

Grey Gardens, most definitely. It has amazing performances by Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson.

You can always wait until your next trip to see Spring Awakening. It's going to be around longer than GG, and you won't be missing anything if you don't get to see the original cast. Not that they're bad, it's just that I don't think there's anything special about their performances that is a must-see.

it depends on what kind of person you are.

I've seen both and love both but I'd suggest GG before SA because I don't know how much longer GG will be around. I think you'll have another opportunity to see SA.

I agree. I love both shows but I think seeing Grey Gardens and Christine while you can is an absolute must.

I didn't see Grey Gardens, but I saw Spring Awakening and liked it.

What kind of music do you prefer? Spring Awakening has a rock/pop score, and Grey Gardens is the complete opposite - it has more beautiful, soothing melodies.

I hear Christine Ebersole is great, so if your a big fan of her, go see that.

Are you a student? Is there a way you could see both?

Grey Gardens. Pure brilliance in a two and a half hour time period.

Another vote for Grey Gardens. If for no other reason than because Christine won't be there past October (assuming, hopefully, the show remains open). Spring Awakening will be around for awhile. Have you listened to either cast recording? That might help you decide for yourself. I just loved Grey Gardens from first listening.

Grey Gardens!!! Go for the story, the beautiful music and book, and the stunning cast, led by Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson.

I've seen both. They are both excellent. What a choice....

Just based on the shows themselves, I'd definitley pick SA. However, there is the longevity argument, and Ebersole really is a wonder. If you see GG this time, be sure to put SA at the top of your list next time.
