You all act as if a musical has never been based on a movie or a tv show before. Yes it's Ted Key's Hazel. And there are plenty of other ideas which are more ridiculous than Hazel being a musical. There are ten lousy musicals based on bad source material for every one decent original work.

So why the shock?

I am not being defensive. I asked if anyone was at the reading because I am sincerely interested how it went. There are a lot of important people involved. I got a lot of nonsense answers.

I'm not sure what I think of "Hazel the Musical" but the possibility of the enormously talented Klea Blackhurst on Broadway makes me smile.

It was fabulous - Klea IS fabulous. The whole cast was fabulous as is the score by Ron Abel & Chuck Steffan - book by Lissa Levin…directed by Lucie Arnaz!
