I'm getting headshots taken in NYC soon and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions of some great photographers!

He's one of BWW's photogs (he covers hundreds of events for us) and does wonderful portraits/headhots as well!

Curtis Brown is great. (http://curtisbrownphotography.com/) He did Shoshana Bean and Scott Alan's latest headshots, he is also doing (or recently has done) Eden Espinosa's . (You can go to shoshanabean.com and scottalan.net to see some more pictures.)

Chris Macke.. he's awesome. He's done Stephanie Block,Jenn Gambetese,Chester Gregory.. and a slew of other bway/film people.

While on the subject-

What kind of headshots are done now-a-days?

I know there are different kinds for television, films and theatre but I'm confused...

Just head? Whole body? Waist up? Color? Black and White?

Whatever you do DON'T use Robert Kim. he is a scam artist and incredibly inapropriate with women.

I have heard color is preferred now even for theatre.

Not just preferred. Equity is requiring all actors in the union to switch to colored headshots.

My friend Brian Van Sise does headshots. He's really good. He won a bunch of photography awards while he was in college and because he's not a big name, he doesn't charge a lot. $400, including the shoot, prints, and touchups.

Yero My Hero, just curious but where did you get the info that Equity was forcing its members to get color headshots? I haven't recieved any notification about this. Plus, I don't see how they can require something when they aren't paying for it.

They're switching to color to piss me off since I just got 300 brand new black and white copies of my headshot.
