And Matthew Bourne's SWAN LAKE was nominated and won in several musical categories at the Tony Awards - still doesn't make it a musical in my book.

If the particular impressive Ghost couldn't work on both sides of the Atlantic, neither will the Bodyguard and that other abortion that is opening in the West End this fall 'Viva Forever'.

On what basis can't they work?

How can you say that before you have seen either show?

And GHOST being particularly impressive is only a matter of opinion. My opinion is that it wasn't particularly impressive - but I can have that opinion because I have seen it. How you can have an opinion that BG and VF are "abortions" when you haven't is beyond me.....

It's obvious that theatre fan is connected to the show in some way.


The songs are classics, and if they have to lower e key, everyone will notice.

They should just get someone who can actually sing the songs they were written in, because that is how they are known.

I did not mean to deman Ms Sharrock and everyone has to direct their FIRST Musical at some time, I just think it will be interesting to see how her first attempt pans out.

Even directors who have done brilliant jobs on one Musical can fail (SOUTH PACIFIC-WOTVOANB), there's no perfect recipe.

Just like me, repect.

I just cannot see how music by Whitney Houston, will be served better in a theatrical experience context. I like Whitney Houston and enjoy hearing her music on the radio, but would I enjoy seeing this on stage, NO, will I go, YES, to see Heather Headley, especially as the theatre in only 40 minutes for my home.

I just hope this show doesn't go on and pollute New York.

Heather won a tony for "Aida" and Grammy for "Audience of One" so next in line would be an Oscar :) Thanks for your support! I'm excited to see her Oscar-worthy film performance. Can you give some more information. Is it a movie version of the stage version of the movie version of The Bodyguard? When is it going to be released?

I think this role should be played by one of the best voices in the world. With a powerful chest voice and crystal clear, bell like head voice tone that Whitney had. A powerhouse voice with incredible subtlety and detail in every word she sings.

Someone like Lea Salonga.

Or does Rachel have to be black because Whitney was black?

Yeah, good luck getting past Simone (Nina's daughter) who has repeatedly said that Heather is not right for the part, nor is Beyonce (another name being thrown around for the role). I'd think that getting the blessing of Simone would be quite a big deal before going forward with a bio-pic.

Lea Salonga? The most dishwater dull Disney princess voice to grace the West End stage? Sure, she enunciates beautifully, but her voice is just... Not exciting.

Does anyone know when Gloria goes on? I want to start booking soon and for my first visit I want to see Heather. Do alternates go on even in previews? I'm planning to book for the last preview but not sure which Rachel will be on.
