I don't know what the hell you are talking about. Yes, there are oral sex references in the show, but I accompany it and I have never seen Jordan (Hedwig) deep-throating the microphone.

i had just turned 12 when i saw hedwig for the first time and it was a life-changing experience. no play i have seen since then could ever hold a candle to it. - this was however back in the day when the show was off-broadway and still fresh.

but, this in mind, i did go the first time with my parents. i'm assuming you're going with your parents..? i'd suggest looking into getting the cast recording before you go, reading a synopsis or even the script ... you're a better gauge of whether or not your parents will think this is an appropriate show. you will definitely want to prepare them about the subject matter. when i was 12 i went with my parents and my friends' parents ... but these are also the people who let me go see puppetry of the penis so a quick synopsis and we were set ... and i was still uncomfortable.

so really, your call. but don't pass up the opportunity just because it's about a botched sex change. if i had waited until i was "old enough," i would have missed seeing it off-broadway.
