"a national tour of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” will start in San Francisco Oct. 4, and productions are also planned for the West End and Australia."

I know it's been talked about, but I hadn't seen the exact date yet.

Important: this is all planned for October 2016! Not this upcoming October!

Edited. I thought that wan an obvious thing but clarification is always good. It's just over a year away!
I can't wait to hear who will be playing Hedwig in the tour, exciting that it's starting here.
Whoever's running the Broadway in Chicago snapchat is currently in NYC seeing shows (for work purposes?), including Hedwig.

Tim Minchin or Hugh Jackman in Australia
my guess is the will likely run just 6-9 months, playing only major tour stops like San Fran., Los Angeles, Chicago, Philly, Denver, etc.

I would like to see Tommy Tune as Hedwig and Liza as Yitzhak.
Will they change the name of the show when it plays London to "Hedwig and the Angry Centimeter"?

Don't you mean "Hedwig and the Angry 2.54 Centimeters"?

LizzieCurry, that's a good sign! Does anyone know how hard it is to get tickets for the San Francisco show if one is not a season ticket holder?
Probably hinges a lot on Idina. If she increases the number of subscribers who definitely want to see her in If/Then, it also increases the number of people who may have already bought advanced seats to see Hedwig.

Haterobics, that makes sense. Thanks for your answer.

I just hope it comes to Houston.
Any updates or rumors on this? Is it peculiar that the exact dates of the tour's first stop have been announced, but no venue set or future locations announced yet?

No, because it is the final show of the season in San Francisco, whereas it could then be at the start of most other seasons elsewhere.

I just watched a video of the closing speeches and the tour was brought up as what they are now turning their attention to. London and Austrailia were mentioned as well.
In all fairness, EVERY show that closes typically talks about the tour and future plans rather than make the Broadway closing seem solely like the end of something.
Not Dance of the Vampires.
How about every mildly successful show?!

Okay, but the show does very well literally everywhere else.

We would not be here right now were it not for DoTV.
I hope they make a Hedwig movie.

SHN still shows venue as TBA. I have a crazy hope that the Nederlander org will be willing and able to offer enough money to Carole Shorenstein Hayes to use the Curran - and that by next fall it would be still a bit torn-up, but usable, from its announced rehab. It would be a perfect setting.
