Helen Shaw: At the Stratford Festival, Forgiveness Is a Power Move

Thanks for sharing MezzA101. Such a beautiful article. I already wrote a lot about my first trip to Stratford this year on the Road Trips thread. I also loved the productions of The Tempest & Guys and Dolls, and saw two more different shows than what Ms Shaw saw and they were also very fine. But, I don't know if I'll make the trip again. New York is always a bigger draw to me & I keep returning.

While many here in my home country are quite angry about politics, I can't stop going to the USA. I'm just over 3 weeks from traveling to Las Vegas, and then about 6 weeks later will be back in NYC. I actually extended my Las Vegas trip in order to see Diana Ross at the Wynn again. A week in Las Vegas seems crazy but that's what I'm doing. I'm just hoping for hot weather so I can toast at the pool.

My view of politics is to look at history. Nothing is permanent. Adolf Hitler ruled for 12 devastating years and murdered millions, but finally blew his own brains out. Some of his henchmen were brought to trial at Nuremberg and hung for their crimes. Great Americans brought these acts of justice. I have every confidence that great Americans, who believe in justice, will rise once again and deal firmly with the perpetrators of evil we see around us today.
