Hello, Dolly/Gavin Creel Vacations?

Hi all! I'm looking at tickets for Hello, Dolly! with Donna Murphy on Thursday, July 6th but was wondering if anyone knew if Gavin Creel has any scheduled absences coming up, particularly that day/week? I've never seen him live and have been a fan for years (I adore those Eloise movies-- I watch them every Christmas), so I'd really like to catch him in his Tony-winning role! Thanks!

Since he's not above the title, they probably won't announce any absences he has planned. I don't think he's on social media, though, so I guess he can't post it either? He has a pretty good track record, as far as I can recall from Hair, though? (cue everyone correcting me in 3, 2, 1...)

Lol, I'll do it. Gavin had an unfortunate injury during Hair's run which took him out of some performances. But otherwise I believe he had good attendance. And I hope nothing like an injury ever occurs again

Gavin has a great attendance record. I'm sure others can confirm, but I believe he was only out something like 2 shows during the run of She Loves Me. He performs unless he physically can't.

Your other option to find out if Gavin will be out would be to ask the primary Cornelius understudy, Christian Dante White, via twitter or the like if he has any upcoming planned performances. White is a monster on the stage--one of the best dancers on Broadway right now, incredibly charismatic, and an activist for many causes off stage. All around good guy.

I agree with you. Christian Dante White was amazing as Cornelius and I'd happily watch him perform that role again!

Are you sure he missed two shows of She Loves Me? I was under the impression didn't miss one at all.

The only thing here would be they may post on Telecharge if he's taking vacation, now that he won. But maybe not.

And he is on Twitter, but deleted most of his tweets at some point post-Mormon.

I saw them both. Christian did a fine job, but overall, I think Gavin was a bit funnier and his voice is better.
