I got too many questions for her.
What a Woman!
Here's one, Rob:
From "Sinatra Songs" to "Movin' Out," you have created dance/theater pieces from song catalogs and found a way to bring out the the deepest level of drama from within the songs. Can you describe the creative provcess that takes you from listener to dramatist?
And by the way, everyone--Twyla Tharp's book "The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It for Life" just came out in paperback. Along with Julia Cameron's "The Artist's Way," it is a must-read for anyone who loves or values creativity.
How was your experience working with Baryshnikov and how did he influenced your current work?
Why, why do the exact same thing again?
Was your work on the film of "Hair" memorable for you in any way, if not artistically fulfilling?
Were you surprized by the success of MOVIN' OUT?
Who's yer Baby's daddy?
Twyla never does the same thing twice.
Wait till U see THE TIMES...
Dear Twyla
Why do you feel, at this point in your career, that people are behind you?
Obviously. you're having the best success in your career.
But was "Movin Out"' your success, or Billy Joel's? Is the new show because of Bob Dylan? Or you? Explain, please.

Let me clarify.
"Movin Out" was a huge hit in America, because Billy Joel was an amazing songwriter. "Movin' Out" lasted a day and a half in Britain, because they don't get Billy Joel. He is also an amazing songwriter, but he never touched people the way you think he did. You're screwed. "The Times They Were A'Changin'" is going to be the biggesgt flop of the season.
And, Twyla, it's your doing. You are simply replicating Martha Graham, which is what you have always done. There is nothing new about your choreography. It's always been Martha Graham Redux. The theatre world could care less.

Wow, after VeuveClicquot's comment, we should all just kill ourselves.
I just want to know how much fun she's having working with the amazing Thom Sesma...
Edit: sorry, Rob. Just couldn't resist. I should have used your link to pose my question.
Do you find it ironic that I'm a dancer and we have the same last name?
Hahaha. Just kidding, couldn't resist! (actually we do have the same last name)
