My husband and I have seen a few shows in New York, but they've always been with school groups or purchased from the TKTS booth. He's been dying to see Wicked, so I want to give him tickets for Christmas. But I'm not sure which seats to choose, because I'm not a Broadway expert.
My budget will allow a certain price. And for the date that I want, I have two options that are sticking out. I've narrowed it down to Orchestra row D seats 113-114, or Front Mezz Row A seats 20-22. I've read two schools of thought online. Front center orchestra is best because you can see the facial expressions. And front mezz is best because the set is built in such a way that you need to be up higher to get a full view. (But there are no center mezz available.)
So, what's the best? I don't want to give him crappy tickets for Christmas!
While both are great seats, personally, I'd go with the orchestra seats.
And according to the seating chart I just looked at: row D is NINE rows back. Should be perfect.
I'd go with the center orchestra seats too, especially since those front mezz seats are off to the side.
Definitely center Orchestra. I've seen Wicked off to the side in the front mez and seen it in the orchestra. ORCHESTRA FOR SURE!
