Help remembering book, please!

Hi, within the last ten years, I remember reading a sort of diary of a year in the life of a Broadway performer, mostly in the company. I distinctly remember his description of the last night of Broadway Cats, in which he performs. Does anyone know the author or title? I would love to get a copy for a student of mine who is soon to graduate. Thank you so much!
