Trying to decide what to see instead of Hamilton (we already saw it at the Public so we sold our seats to friends). I was leaning towards Dear Evan Hanson - really knowing nothing about it but going off word of mouth. We've never seen a production of Fiddler, and wondering if we should strongly consider the revival before it closes? Last, I'm slightly intrigued by Falsettos, and my wife is a huge fan of Rannells.
Does anyone have strong opinions or suggestions on what we should do? Obviously loved Hamilton, and recent shows that we loved were Next to Normal and King and I.
I also considered The Encounters - seems like it would be quite the experience. Plenty seems interesting as well, but we generally lean more towards musicals.
You see why we opted against another viewing of Hamilton - so much out there!
Definitely consider DEH, but I'd also say Falsettos is a great choice as well. Maybe take a look at Great Comet too.
Have you yet seen The Color Purple? If you can confirm that Cynthia Erivo will be in the show by the time you go, do not miss it.
I had never seen a professional production of Fiddler until this revival, Bartlett Sher is the director and he also directed Lincoln Center's The King and I. It is a wonderful production and Danny Burstein is excellent.
Dear Evan Hanson and Falsettos are on our list for our December trip.

Probably should have clarified that we only have one time slot available.
I think if Headley were still in TCP in December, I would have gone with that...hands down. Errivo is quite a draw, but I'm less interested there than I am with Evan Hansen or Fiddler.
I would skip Fiddler only because you can always see a production of Fiddler somewhere. The same could be said of Falsettos, but it isn't as well-known and since your wife likes Rannells, why not. Seems you would be seeing it more for the cast than the show, versus Fiddler you are usually going for the show. Otherwise, Dear Evan Hanson is a good choice since it is new and word of mouth is good.
For the record, the last time I saw Fiddler was a U.S. tour. Once was more than enough for me. Never seen a production of Falsettos. I'd probably see DEH because of the good word of mouth and it might be a long time before a regional production is performed near me.
Have a great trip.

If you can get tickets see The Great Comet, this is coming from someone who is taking a massive trip in November and seeing The Great Comet, DEH and Falsettos and although I am super excited for all three, I CANNOT WAIT to see The Great Comet mostly for the incredible performances to come (Denee Benton looks fantastic!) and the inventive staging. My second choice is Falsettos based solely on the cast and score, which is amazing, and then knowing very little about DEH is third, but still excited to see all three regardless!
I would also say to skip Fiddler, especially if you want to see something that will not tour.
