Hey! So, I ordered the librettos for "A Little Night Music" and "Gypsy" that I can pick up from Barnes & Noble and am picking one up today. (I have a gift card with enough credit for only ONE of the books.) I am having a little trouble deciding which one I want to buy.
I can get the ALNM libretto from the public library a few blocks away, but I want one to keep in my collection, you know? I have the lyrics for the show via the recent cast recording booklet. I do not know the show very well so can not say it is the full show or not; dialogue and all.
I have the recent GYPSY recording with Patti LuPone, which does not include the lyrics to the show in the booklet, and sometimes want to look at the lyrics. I can listen to it consistently to get/know the lyrics, but would like to read Laurents' book with it as well.
Gypsy Libretto: $13.95
ALNM Libretto: $16.99
Which do you all think I should get?
(PS Should I get the N2N libretto when it comes out at the end of the month?

Hi,
I don't know if this response is too late or not, but if you are choosing between 2 libretto's - buy the one you are most likely to use, whether it be now or sometime in the future. It's all well and good to have a collection of sheet music, but what's the point if they are going to sit on a shelf and collect dust and not be used - it would be a real shame. So buy the music you will use the most:).
I hope this helps:)
