I am looking to for a show to produce at my college. Ideally, the cast should be somewhere between 5 and 15 characters, with at least some strong female roles. No musicals.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Cast should be somewhere around 10, but that is flexible. I prefer classic, dramatic plays, but I am open to anything! Ideally, they would be plays that are cheap to produce!
Thanks!

I believe Emily gave us her cast size.
Emily, look at plays by Wendy Wasserstein, Beth Henley and other female playwrights. Not that male writers don't also write great roles for women, because they can and they do. It's just that you're almost certain to find strong female roles in plays by female playwrights.

Summer and Smoke would be a nice choice
As would Outward Bound or I Remember Mama

Well, some posters will scream, but "The Children's Hour" by Hellman can be staged with resonance and insight about another time. The London revival was well received. And a slew of roles for women.
