One of my room mates saw Henry IV tonight at the Lincoln Center. He was extremely moved. Apparently, it is stunning.

My ex-boyfriend's cousin's sister-in-law's niece saw HENRY IV, and was so moved she puked.

Well, I saw it and didn't puke.

Truly a wonderful epic with spectacular performances. Kevin Kline was astonishing with repsect to both his physical presence and emotional life. Watching Richard Easton performing Shakespeare is perhaps the best sex I've ever had. Ethan Hawke was thrilling and Michael Hayden was beautiful. That's the only word I could use for his performance. It was perfectly shaded, deeply felt and, most importantly, lovingly spoken.

And after seeing Audra in her small but pivotal role, I cannot wait to see her Lady M. or Portia in Julius Ceasar. She really can do anything.

The physical production was astounding, with a battle scene that was incredibly suspenseful. The period costumes were splendid and the lighting effective. One of the better nights I've had in the theatre in a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

Ditto what Robbie said... best night (or afternoon) in the theater this year by a long shot... 'stunning' is the perfect word to describe it. I hope 'King Lear' will be a good one too...
