isn't there a hidden track on one of the Carols for a Cure CD's?

If you play Wicked backward it is actually the Beatles White Album.
What is the point of a hidden track? Is it just an in-joke? Or are the artists and producers deeply ashamed of that particular cut and hope that it reaches the smallest possible audience?
And brdlwyr, I played Wicked backwards and I'd swear Kristin sings "Idina is dead"...

The thing I hate about hidden tracks is that they scare the hell out of me. The first time I heard one I had gone upstairs and heard music coming from the stereo after I thought it had ended. My first thought was someone had broken into my home.
They are like an 'Easter Egg' on a DVD. Nothing to be ashamed of, it's just like a cool little surprise if/when you find it.
I like them when they have their own track assigned. I hate it when they are simply attached to an unhidden track. I love You Can't Stop The Beat from Hairspray and like to include it on cd mixes I make for the car, however, I am unable to separate the hidden track attached to it. Just an inconvenience.
If there is anyone out there (besides me) who has the "BELLS ARE RINGING" Revival CD, there is a bonus track #20. It is listed on the CD as "The music and lyrics of Dr. Kitchell." However, after that plays, there is a small HIDDEN TRACK with Fatih Prince doing a little swing version of IS IT A CRIME? It's pretty funny!

baddadnpa - you should get an audio program for your computer like soundforge and you can put the track in there and splice it and make two separate tracks out of it.

When I borrowed the 'Showboat' 1966 Concert Cast recording from the local library, I discovered 9 hidden tracks. One of them was like some horribly recorded rock song.
